Here's what I have so far. Reddit has the links embedded:
- Clarion Hotel (interior/exterior/diner/law office - NE, Calgary)
- Forest Lawn Legion (Forest Lawn, Calgary)
- Beiseker (Post Office small town, stands in for Eden Valley Minnesota - NE of Calgary)
- Swans of Inglewood Restaurant and Pub (Inglewood, Calgary)
- Caesar's Steakhouse (a hilariously dated and renowned place in Downtown Calgary - think red pleather seats and only men waiters in black and white's)
- Blanco Cantina (17th Avenue, SW - stands in for Los Angeles)
- Downtown, Calgary, 5 Ave and 2 St, SW
- Delightful Cafe (As seen in Promo #3; Sign reads DInEr, caps lit up - - Inglewood, Calgary)
- Marda Loop - 35 Ave and 21 St SW
- Calgary Film Centre
- Bow Vista Ranch (Mansion - interior/exteriors - Indus, Alberta)
- Maskwa Environmental (Car on dolly, 19 St and 10 Ave SW, north side of office - Sunalta, Calgary)
- 32 Ave and 24A to 27 St SW
They were up filming some scenes at North Cariboo Air on Palmer Rd in the NE.
I think it was in February, I saw them getting ready to film in the parking lot south of the Shaw building downtown on 3rd Ave and 6th St. I saw the sign for something like $7 a day and was pretty surprised the lot was that cheap. Then I walked by a cop car, the corvette in the promo, and a few other cars with Minnesota licence plates.
The main characters are both played by Ewan McGregor. One is the balding slumlord looking guy in the 3rd promo video. The other is his brother, a handsome and successful business man with a parking lot empire.
Just got a call to be in the show. Filming next Wednesday in Calgary. Have to let them know by tomorrow. They asked if I would shave off the beard I've had for 5yrs. I'm torn. Haha
Any feedback from anyone who's worked on the show this season?

Are you doing background?
I was an extra on Hell on Wheels. Here's some insight.
- Be ready for really long uncertain hours. You don't know when you're needed on set until the evening the day before and never know when you'll be done and can go home. So clear your calendar totally.
- Bring a bag with books, tablet, nudie mags. Something to keep you entertained.
- Bring charger cord, or one of those charging power banks. Your holding area may not have plug-ins, or they may be in use.
- We were fed very very well, so bring an appetite. Not sure what Fargo will be like, but for us they brought in snacks and we had designated lunch/dinner times. Sometimes there was nothing else to do except eat.
Overall a fun experience. You'll like being behind the scenes, doing wardrobe/makeup etc. Seeing the interaction between director and principal actors.
You'll like trying to find yourself when watching the final cut on TV and telling people to pause it at HH:MM of episode #x.
But for the pay and hour commitment it wasn't worth it for me. Especially if you have a full time real job and family commitments.
But in saying that, I'd probably do it again if a interesting or high-profile opportunity came though.

I heard the pay is unreal if you're doing an activity. My parents signed up the whole family for one of those extra casting agency things back in the day and only they got called in for something once and said the people in their scene that were riding on rollerblades got paid something like a grand for a days work.
I've been told I would be acting as a stock broker and was asked to wear a suit. Sounds like it would be a full day's commitment for next Wednesday.
Nice. You'll have fun being part of it! Hopefully its a fun shoot.
They'll probably ask you back if you show interest and are available. They're always looking for people for various background and extra roles.
Are you a fan or a watcher of the show?
If not, my other piece of advice would be to read up on it a bit so you know who is who and what the general plot/story is.
Not required at all, but might be good to be somewhat aware.

I'm a big fan of the show. Kinda why I decided to sign up to be an extra for this season.
I'm gonna do it. Beards grow back and chicks dig movie stars!!

How did it go? I was supposed to do this role, but was used earlier in a diner and the exterior car crash scene that's in the trailer. Where did you shoot - which actors were on set?
I've received my cheques for the days I worked: one day I worked 6 hours and was paid $33.50/hr and one day I worked 12 hours and was paid $12.50/hr. The difference in pay was due to being "on voucher", which I'm still confused about. On the first day, there were only 10 of us, while the second day there was 75 - maybe it has something to do with that.
As for "how to be an extra", visit ACTRA's website, set Google alerts for 'Calgary casting call', and/or get head shots done and then find an agent. There's not a lot shooting at the moment in Calgary, as Fargo is wrapping up on episodes 7-10 right now. Hold the Dark is also filming, as a stand-in for Alaska, but they were primarily looking for indigenous actors.
I finally found the 'mansion' referenced in the Calgary Herald article linked below. Looks like it's being used as the main base for the Rich Ewan. I might have to drive by and check it out.
