Finally starting to watch the original Fullmetal Alchemist. I'm only a 6 episodes in but i'm liking it so far. All of my friends keep on telling me Brotherhood follows the Manga closer and that it's better. Is it better if I watch Brotherhood first?
This guy has a pretty good review on both series, and the differences.

I'd watch the original first, Brotherhood is better, but the original is still quite enjoyable. It's less enjoyable if you watch Brotherhood first though.
Mob Psycho 100 is interesting, it's style is different (though familiar if you've watched One Punch Man, it's from the same studio), and like One Punch Man it's basically competence porn (at least so far), but it's pretty good.

Finally finished up Death Note. The last few episodes were better than I expected them to be but the advice given was definitely correct. It felt like Light became an entirely different, dumber character post "event". Still loved it overall, I liked the tone. Suggestions for next? Last few I've watched have been attack on Titan (love), dead man wonderland (pretty good), and death note.
I'll look. I prefer subtitles, dubs lose the emotion.
I agree and that's probably a good rule to follow, but I actually think the English dub is better than then Japanese. Maybe you'll disagree if you watch it.

It's a fun little series regardless though.
Agreed. 99% of the time I prefer subs. But the dialogue is quite heavy in this case, so the English dub is nice so that you can focus on the story and animation and less on reading subs. Though I thought Japanese was available on Netflix as well? Maybe I'm remembering wrong.
Idk. My friends who got me into Gurren Lagann a long time ago told me to watch Kill La Kill and said it was made by the same people who did Gurren Lagann. They may not have gotten their sources right.
I want to say it gets better, but that's probably inaccurate. Maybe better to say it rises above itself every so often for cool moments, but I don't think it ever gets really good.

Even just one episode in, the dramatic tonal shift from serious to giant eyed exaggerated responses to stuff. I've watched bits and pieces over time but didn't know if the cheesy almost Looney Tunes vibe continued.
I'm very hesitant of anime over 100 episodes which is why I haven't fully checked out Naruto, Bleach or One Piece. Inuyasha was a damn chore to get through.
