Celebrated Square Root Day
|
I hope some nerd tells me about this day today, so I can punch him in the face to celebrate my first annual "punch a nerd in the face for telling me it's square root day" day.

On this day in Square Root Day history:
January 1, 1901: The six colonies became a Federation, and the Commonwealth of Australia was formed.
February 2, 1904: Vladimir Novak, a Czechoslovakian nordic skiier, was born.
March 3, 1909: The FDA approved the use of Sodium Benzoate as a preservative in foods.
April 4, 1916: Albert Mauritz Atterberg, a Swedish chemist and agricultural scientist, died.
May 5, 1925: Monica Lewis, an American singer and actress, was born.
June 6, 1936: Yoo Jae-yong, a South Korean novelist, was born. He made his literary debut with the serial children's tale, "The Gangly Balloon", printed in 1965.
July 7, 1949: Shelley Duvall, the actress best known for her role in "The Shining" was born.
August 8, 1964: A Rolling Stones gig in Scheveningen gets out of control. Riot police end the gig in 15 minutes.
September 9, 1981: Manuel Pascali (soccer player) was born in Milan, Italy.
January 1, 2001: A black monolith approximately 9 feet tall appears in Seattle's Magnuson Park, placed by an anonymous artist in reference to the movie "2001: A Space Odyssey"
February 2, 2004: Roger Federer becomes the no. 1 ranked tennis player in the world.
I wonder what kind of significant world event will happen today?!

Furthermore, the Calgary Flames have never played on Square Root Day. This will be the first Square Root Day game in franchise history.

My I Ching reading predicts that Sutter will pick up Bouwmeester, Roberts, and Ovechkin.
... Bias may have contributed to the latter.

The real pi day will happen in 6 years. Of course, the real REAL pi day was in 1592.

Me too, cause it's my birthday!!! Yaaa! Did you know that Albert Einstein was born on that day!! It's also Steak and BJ day!
I often pack so much into one day, then I get obscenely drunk just 3 days after...March is EEEVILLLL!
I often think is was destined for great things...

I'm a math major. My friend told me it was Square Root Day. Even I thought this was lame. Pi Day is the only math holiday I will celebrate. Mmm.. Pie.
