30 Month Delay for new helicopters

To not much surprise, Sikorsky announces a 30 month delay. From sources I read it's due to a new fly by wire variant they are working on, so I'm not sure if the Feds can/will penalize them or not.

For some perspective, Cormorant rotorheads have been failing at high rate, so perhaps the EH101 may not have been the slam dunk choice. That said, there's no guarantee these Cyclones wont have their share of teeting problems, given we are the sole military operator....

I know, sorry. I debated starting a new thread but thought the point was emphasized further by bumping the thread started when the contract was announced. That and there's some good, still pertinent discussion in the thread itself.
