Pizza Thread
My brother and I are ordering pizza for supper tonight, but we never seem to be able to agree on a place to get it from. I like Chicago Deep Dish because you get so much bang for your buck, and he favours Pizza Hut, which in my opinion is way too greezy with low quality ingredients.
My question to CP is what is your favorite pizza place to get delivery from? We can eat quite a bit so we need good value for our money, but also something that is really delicious. We live in the SW if that makes a difference.

Best pizza in Calgary for me is Sammy's. Good the day you buy it - just as good cold for breakfast and the best pizza for dinner the next day re-heated.
(Best pizza I have ever had is the garlic mushroom pizza in Red Peppers - Esher, Surrey, England.)

Tried Vern's pizza last week, and quite enjoyed it - they give you a TON of toppings, holy crap.

The answer to this question is always Atlas Pizza and Steakhouse in the Northeast. Hands down the best pie in town!

I have to boycott Atlas on general principle - their radio commercials are too ######ed for me to permit myself to go there.
Red Carpet (in Mayfair Place) makes some pretty damn good pizza, and it is done right: so greasy that the box is see through by the time you are done!

I like Tom's, Pizza Bob's, and the place I like the most that I order from now is Red Rock Bar & Grill.

The last time I had Tom's (from the one just north of Heritage) I was extremely disappointed with the quality. Maybe it was a bad night and they had the rooks making the pizzas.

Chicago Deep Dish has gone downhill as of late. There used to be a ton of cheese on it. It's not so good anymore. Post your general vicinity so people can be of more help.

I don't agree with that. It depends on the store that makes it, not the company.
I've had some absoutely phenomenal pizza from Little Ceasar's, Dominos and Pizza Hut, just as much as I have had it from indpendent local joints.
This isn't directed at you, GTP, but I've got a handful of friends who I call 'food warriors' that refuse to eat at certain places and such because the quality is different, blah blah blah. Anything from pizza to sushi. I'm no food connoisseur, but I've been fortunate enough to be able to eat a wide variety of food of all types from around the world for my entire life, and I've found that people, in general, REALLY excessively overanalyze things such as pizza, etc.
You can be picky and choosy, by all means; but just to cut down pizza because it's from a major international outlet is becoming too trendy, like a fad. In my opinion, it's not nearly as bad as you make it out to be.

This place isn't in Calgary, but man was it good.
I was in Victoria for the weekend, and had Ali Baba's Pizza. It was like a little taste of heaven.
As for Calgary, i'm pretty addicted to Nick's on 14th Street SW, and as another poster mentioned, Atlas Pizza in the NE

I don't agree with this at all. While there may be some differences from country to country, every store in the chain gets the same ingredients and the same equipment. The product is supposed to be identical. And even if it isn't identical, you can't make a quality product when you're using crappy ingredients the chain forces you to use.
I've never had anything close to a phenomenal pizza from Little Caesar's or Domino's and I don't think I've had anything that would be described as really good from Pizza Hut in almost 20 years.
