Default Underwear Affair

I know it is the season for charity runs and walks, and there are LOTS out there, but I thought I would just put the run I'm participating in out there to see if anyone is interested in donating or even participating.

Its Alberta Cancer Foundation's 2nd annual Underwear Affair for cancers below the belt (prostate, colon, testicular, and ovarian cancer, among others). A few ladies from my soccer team are running 10km in our underwear!
((Pics to Come)) hehe.

If you are interested in donating, here is my personal page

DONATE

Thanks everyone

Hmmm..

I was thinking about doing it but had some nagging injuries that I had to deal with first.

Pretty much injury free now - but I think it's too late to sign up. Don't know about raising $300 in time - nor being in tip top shape or know anyone doing it.

According to the page, for $1000 you can be her sugar daddy.

Good luck with your fundraising, Sarah! Good thing you're legal, or this thread would be going nowhere good.

From the donation form:

IMPORTANT: Your monthly statement(s) will read Underwear Affair.
I can totally see relationships ending over this.

I'm just kidding of course, donate to the cause all.
Damn? That obvious?

I actually had a comment in there about how I'm not in "top 10 shape" but figured it came across as arrogant and as such changed it.

See how I still managed to slip that in.

And Wookie, that was smooth -- nice slip in of the top 10 too.. Its too bad you have to wear pink underwear to run with us.. I mean by all means join us, just a disclaimer on the uniform requirements

Good luck, this is a worthwhile cause. I've made a donation to a friend of mine who is also running. I might try to do this next year.

You should auction off a spot to help you and your team with wardrobe on the day...that would get some of the fellas here buzzing.

I am doing the 5 mile race at North Glenmore Park (Betty's run for ALS). As a seperate rant....why do they schedule two races on the same weekend....The race you are doing definitely has more marketability and would likely draw better if there wasn't another race on the same weekend.....Anyways good luck with your run and I will donate to your cause!

Thanks macker, are you fundraising for yours? If so I'd love to reciprocate.
I think there are just so many of these runs that throughout the summer its hard to find an open weekend, but I see your point.

I don't know why I can't do this Sarah. I click on the donation link, then it asks for my name and address and all that..then my credit card number. Anyway, I just printed out the donation page and wrote out a check. The donation page has your name on it. It's only ten bucks anyway. I'll mail it in the morning.

Is there any correlation between the money raised and the amount of coverage of the undergarmets?? perhaps a inverse one??

was looking at some of the picture from last years event and noticed alot of people were pretty well clothed. Perhaps we need a swimwear affair

I donated so I could say that this thread might be of limited use...with out photos of the event.

Seriously, though way to go. Volunteering/Fundraising always gives more back to the person than is put out, in my experience.
