Gotta love crazy people, this one is a true gem, a witchunt in the 21st Century in America

TULSA, OK--In a case reminiscent of the Salem Witch trials, the American Civil Liberties Union of Oklahoma today filed a federal lawsuit charging that school officials violated 15-year-old Brandi Blackbear's rights when they accused her of casting a hex that resulted in a teacher's illness.
"These outlandish accusations have made Brandi Blackbear's life at school unbearable," said Joann Bell, Executive Director of the ACLU of Oklahoma. "I for one would like to see the so-called evidence this school has that a 15-year-old girl made a grown man sick by casting a magic spell."

"It's hard for me to believe that in the year 2000 I am walking into court to defend my daughter against charges of witchcraft brought by her own school," said Timothy Blackbear. "But if that's what it takes to clear her record and get her life back to normal, that's what we'll do."
I hear if she the fire doesn't burn her skin we can confirm she is a witch, and if it does ... well ... then we'll know she wasn't.
I always thought that you tied a rock to them and see if they drown? If they float they were clearly a witch, but if they drowned you knew that you were wrong?
Now we're going to throw you off of this cliff, if your not a witch, you will fall to a good christian death. If you are a witch you are to fly back here for a proper christian beheading.

I know the phrase "only in America" usually gets our Yank friends around here upset, but I think it's quite fitting in this case.
You can probably make the argument that it could happen in or around Red Deer.

Dude, that's so far off it isn't even funny.
Just the other day I read an article about how police in some African country were detaining a GOAT becasue people had claimed that it was actually a guy who tried to steal their car (I believe it was a Mazda) and then used witchcraft to turn himself into a goat.
Now granted the police did say that it was kind of rediculous and they wanted scientific proof that this goat was actually a dude, but the were holding it none the less.
