Default $1100 Online Sportsbook Bet

"
Pittsburgh Steelers 2006 Superbowl Champs Promotion
Simply visit the MANSION Sportsbook and place a minimum Point Spread (Handicap) bet of USD 1,100 to win USD 1,000 (or currency equivalent) on the Pittsburgh Steelers for their game on Thursday 7 Sep 2006. (00:30 GMT 8 Sep 2006)
If your bet is not a winner, MANSION will refund your losses of USD 1,100 (or currency equivalent).
This deal is too good to miss. There’s no better way to kick off the NFL season and no better place than at MANSION. "

http://www.mansion.com/Portal.aspx

Hey guys, dunno how many of you guys bet online, or use sportsbooks, but I came across this huge bonus that was creating a ton of buzz on some poker forums and wanted to know if anyone was going to give it a shot.

Essentially, its a huge, almost seemingly too good to be true deal, where you lay $1100 on the Pittsburgh Steelers, and bet that they win by 5 pts, over the Miami Dolphins on the opening game of the NFL season.

Heres the thing, if you lose the bet, you get your money refunded, 100%, and if you win, you win $1000, and get to keep the money.

Their doesnt appear to be any catch or anything, though I'm naturally a little bit leery, but I honestly think I'm going to give this thing a shot.

Mansion poker seems like a very reputable company, and I can't see them suddenly taking the money and running, especially with how much word of mouth and hype they are generating. It seems legit, and I doubt they would risk something so big and then screw you over.

I'm thinking I may do this, and then hedge a bet on The Dolphins on another site, so I would be guarenteed a payout of around $450, though I just may it all ride on the Steelers and pray for the best. Either way, I wouldn't be losing.

Found out about it here originally http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...0&fpart=1&vc=1

Which is a huge Poker forum, and the guys their seem to think its pretty good.

PS - I have no vested interest in this site or anything, just curious if anyone else would feel like doing this, or feel that the risks (of them not refunding or paying your money) are too great, which I can certainly understand, for that amount of cash.

"This offer is only available on the first bet placed for this event"

What does that mean? Your first bet? Or everyone's first bet?

EDIT.... And...

MANSION may at our sole discretion limit the eligibility of customers to participate in any promotion or bonus offer.
MANSION reserves the right to withdraw or amend this offer at any time without prior notice.
All decisions made by MANSION regarding this promotion shall be deemed final.
The withdrawal of any promotion funds will be subject to MANSION withdrawal policy.

That also makes me a wee bit leary...

Also... you'll have to use a service like Netteller if you've not had an account for them for 90 days or more...

Thanks for the tip Juice, I'm gonna take a closer look at this tommorow and decide by the weekend.

I am all over this.

Only have $C950 in my Neteller account right now....going to need around ~$C1300 to cover this bet. EFT on the way...hopefully it's in my account by Friday and I can still do this promo.

For anyone interested, you can sign up for Mansion Poker/Casino and get an extra $90 in your Neteller account (or equivalent prize)! Just sign up for this affiliate site, then use their link to sign up for Mansion, use their bonus code and you'll have $90 whether you win or lose the bet!

I think i may have found the catch. When u try to make the bet on the steelers it says the game is friday sept 8. But its actually on thursday the 7th. Either it is a typo or their way of not being legally responsible because the bet doesnt conform to their promotion rules.

Just an FYI, www.mansion.com resolves to Gibraltar. If they want to shaft you there is absolutely zero recourse. Of course they would likely never see another bet again but.

Mansion is a highly respected sportsbook with very deep pockets. They can be trusted.

Ah, sweet, my friend came through big time for me and lent me $1200, so I'm ready to go.

Gonna make the wager as soon as the EFT through neteller comes through, and hope that the deal hasn't been closed yet.

And obviously hope that they dont take my money and run, heh, Go STeelers!

Are you going to be able to withdraw your refund or your winnings with ease? Are there fees on withdrawals?

Their are no fees, but one important thing for people not familiar with Mansion to make note of is that the first time you withdraw, in this case, either your original buy in or your winnings, is that you first must send in some form of ID to confirm who you are. That generally takes around 2-3 days, and then you can withdraw.

well i have known Ashley for many many years and there is no way he would be involved with a scheme to rip people off. no way, no how.

word is they are close to a sponsership deal with Tottenham, if it hasnt been announced already.

these are also the guys who are running the poker dome, which is going to have a final table tourney for 50million bones, 10m buy in, winner take all. Phil Ivey already signed up.

This gets even more interesting now that Big Ben isn't playing in this game.

wohoo

Congrats to those who had the stones to lay the money down and bet on the Steelers, you just got paid a very tidy sum indeed.

I just checked my account, and was happy to see the money allready in their.

Easily the most exciting football game I ever watched, but then again, with that much action on the game, any game would have been nerve wracking.
