Kanye West Vs. 50 Cent
Not a real huge hip hop fan, but both CD's leaked in the past couple days, and Kanye West's CD is great. 50's? Not so much, though it has harder production. Anyone heard them? Not one bad track on the West album which was very cool.

Drunk and hot girls, was the worst song on the Kanye album. Athough it has some comedic value. Other than that the album was solid. I was barely able to listen to 50's album, terrible.

It's going to take me another week or so form a solid opinion about the Kanye LP, but so far I'm OK with it. Not blown away like I was with the first two, but I think it'll grow on me.
Good Morning, Flashing Lights, and Everything I Am are my favorite cuts. Big Brother is great also. But DAHG is downright awful (after songs like "Roses" and "Diamonds" on LR, why the step back in subject matter?), and the potential new singles (Champion, Good Life) are simply alright. And the track with Chris Martin is simply a second-rate rehash of a previously released track "Home," which is much better.
At least that's my impression so far. Sonically it seems to be on par with LR and has some of the same soul influences as TCD, and I actually enjoy Kanye's swagger as a lyricist. The line about barber shops in "Everything I Am" is classic. But it just doesn't seem as challenging or boisterous or triumphant as his previous two efforts.
Still great though. Common, now Kanye, next Little Brother. A good couple of months for hip hop.
No comment on 50, haven't heard it, and probably won't bother. Kanye is gonna kill him in sales when the albums drop.

I have listen to 5 of the tracks so far and I like it. Will definitely drop my money on this whenever I can.
Plus, 50 gonnna get killed in sales.

Got a copy of the Kanye CD. Its decent but not up to par with his last two... Is everyone else's only 13 tracks? Seems a little bit short to me.
Haven't heard 50's yet... I'm sure I will get around to it eventually. Even though I'm sure Kanye will have a better album I still think 50 will outsell him.

Just like Jay Z retired after the black album.
I've been trying to get hold of both albums to sneak a listen, but no luck as of yet.

When does Getback drop again, anyway?
I'll wait until the 11th to buy Graduation.

Drunk and hot girls was one of my favorites so far. Great album by Kanye, I could care less about 50.

9/25. No more 9th Wonder, but apparently he still produced a track or two for them. Their most recent mixtape was great, and Phonte is just a killer MC. IIRC I pimped the last LP of theirs pretty hard here- nice to meet another LB fan!

Yeah, I love LB. Great albums. Too bad about 9th leaving the fold, but I like Phonte and Big Pooh enough to see how they do without him.
I've collected a lot of LB and 9th since first listening to The Listening, which I think was just 2 or so years ago.

Go Kanye! I hope he outsells .50c so that we can finally be rid of his ridiculous music. I can't stand the guy who's only famous for taking more shots in the face than Jenna Jameson.

Loved Kanye's first two discs...I've only heard the one single from his latest and don't really dig it. Since OJ wore Isotoners? That's kinda clever, but he says it like nine times. It's like someone telling a very ordinary joke over and over again.
But I will reserve comment until I have listened to the entire CD.

I would like to take back every good thing I ever said about Kanye.
New album is laaaaame. None of the creativity I have come to expect from him. Seems like he's made his name and now he's content to repeat the same formula and collect his millions. Very disapointing.
Might change my mind after a few more listens, but I doubt it. Find myself in the car hitting "next" before each song even ends.
Not than I'm promoting fiddy

I don't know much about Kanye, but i do know that song of his where he tried to remix the daft punk song may infact be the worst song i have heard in my life.

Quoted for truth.
He completely destroyed a great Daft Punk song. Kanye is even worse then the Killers for sheer arogance.
