I'd like to be more specific, but I'm honetly open to anything. Beatles, elvis, johnny cash, bad religion, led zeppelin, aerosmith, oldies, '90's, punk, rock, folk, anything.

Every guitarist hits that wall where they find themselves playing the same bunch of songs over and over again and would love to be introduced to some new songs to play.
There should be a club for that or something. It's best to hear somebody play it first to get inspired to try.

Or a thread on Calgarypuck. Seriously though, I find myself coming to Calgarypuck for almost everything these days. I used to search the internet for specific forums whenever I was interested in something or had questions about anything, now I find that there's just so many knowledgable people on Calgarypuck, that I can usually find the info I'm looking for here, and if not there's almost always someone who can point you in the right direction.

It's funny you mention that, because I often hear songs in the radio that I think would be really fun to learn, only to find out that they aren't that fun to play. Likewise, I'll know of songs that I would never think would be fun to play on guitar, then I'll hear someone play it, and I'll get completey inspired to try it myself.

I'm looking for songs too, especially ones that can sound complete with just one guitarist (too many good songs have too many parts for one person to play).

Guitar Town, Steve Earle...
Easy and fun.
My favorite artist is Darrell Scott, he's got some great songs... just not much in the way of tabs or chords out there though.

Here's some fun/cheezy/simple songs I enjoy playing:
REO Speedwagon: Take it on the run, keep on loving you
U2: one, with or without you
INXS: never tear us apart
Crowded House: Don't Dream it's over
Chris Isaak: Wicked Game
Springsteen: Brilliant Disguise
The Hip: Wheat Kings
Blue Rodeo: Lost Together
The Stones: Salt of the earth
My all time favourite song to play is Charming Man by the Smiths, but I also like to play Message in a Bottle by the Police (my unofficial warm up song), Rhiannion by Fleetwood Mac, anything by the Arctic Monkeys (esp Brianstorm), and Limelight by Rush.
Edit: Forgot to mention Like a Hurricane and Cowgirl in the Sand, both by Neil Young

Wish You Were Here is great one to learn. I a little challenging at first but comes easy enough. Plays best on a 12 string though. Black Dog is another fun one. Not actually as challenging as it may seem. A matter of playing it slow at first then bringing it to normal speed.

One of my favourites to play is Eric Clapton's Old Love. It's a very simple song that can be both played on acoustic and electric. The song leaves a lot of room for you to play with. This and Pink Floyd's Time would be my two standards.

Here are some very easy songs that I find really fun to play and warm up on:
Stone Temple Pilots - Crackerman
Tragically Hip - Blow at High Dough
Queens of the Stone Age - Little Sister
Other songs I have been playing for years and love:
Black Sabbath - War Pigs (my personal favorite to play)
Metallica - Four Horsemen
TOOL - Stinkfist
Easy Acoustic Songs that are fun to play:
Alice in Chains - Unplugged Album - Specifically: Brother, Nutshell and No Excuses
Stone Temple Pilots - Plush
When I think of more I will post them.

If you don't mind a little drop tuning, Nick Drake's Pink Moon is a good one.
You mentioned you like Cash--pretty much any Cash song you should be able to figure out in about 5 minutes; they're mostly pretty simple.
"Yellow" by Coldplay is very easy also--and one of those ones people sing along to if you crack out the guitar at a party.

One of the first songs I learned was Stairway to Heaven lol. That was a real mother to start with, but meh I got through it (minus the solo... couldn't do it at the time, and I think I could pull it off now, but never bothered learning since).
Actually I learned Nothing Else Matters by Metallica really really early on too. That one is pretty fun to play.
