Thumbs up Giordano in the Russian play-offs

Hi guys,
Giordano was really not bad in play-offs in Russia. He played 9 games (got penaltized for 5+20 in first period of 10th game). Scored 7 points (1+6) - the best result for defensman in this year play-offs up to now. Played in both short-hand and power-play and was looking really great. I believe he was a key-player in power-play. His team lost 1/4-finals yesterday, so he is back to Canada.

I thought he wasn't supposed to return and rise again until this Sunday?

Har.

Give the guy a red for that one. Best Giordano post ever.

Well, Hale and Vandermeer are UFA's next year so hopefully Sutter can sign Giordano.

If we let Vandermeer leave for a 7th/8th guy like Giordano, I hope the next guy out the door is Sutter.

Yeah, I think both will be near the top of the re-sign scale after Langkow but a couple of other defencemen could be gone for cap reasons. In this case Giordano would be a cheap option.

Giordano doesn't replace either of those guys as they are totally different types of defensemen. Ideally, Giordano would replace Eriksson.

Richie Regehr is also having a good year in Germany. He might be another option.
