Default FS TIVO 80 gig dual tuner

hey i have for sale an 80 gig dual tuner tivo.... you can record 2 shows at once. My wife and i got a free recorder with our dish and no longer need this one. Keep in mind there is a monthly fee for tivo , i believe here in the states it cost 12 bucks a month but its well worth it if there are alot of shows you watch. This was used for four months before we got dish. I just looked it up on bestbuy.ca and it goes for 200 dollars, ill sell this for 120 bucks...

post or pm for any questions or if you want pics

thank you!

p.s. i would even trade it for a new edge reebok huselius jerseys size L but shhhh dont tell my wife

Can you use it at all without the TIVO subscription, or is that necessary? Also, any idea if it would work here in Canada? I will do some Google searching on that one also...thx

yes it does work in canada..... i researched and after i searched i realized why would they sell in bestbuy canada and it not work in canada.... as for the other question , i do not know if it will work without the subscription... but they subscription is fairly cheap and it works great i love being able to type in hockey and it shows all programs related to hockey and i can pick which ones i want to record..

Is Tivo a service provider like Shaw or Bell, or is it just the recorder that works with your current service?

thanks veenegor, but he is correct it works with your current provider. It takes a few minutes to set up, but all you do is hook the tivo up and it walks you right through it ... pretty simple

My boss bought one from the states in 2006. He's been going on and on about it ever since... I finally broke down and bought one when it came to Future Shop in November... I love this thing!

I literally spent about 15-20 minutes setting it up the first day (2 months ago), and I haven't missed a Suns' game or Flames or Packers since. It just automatically records them all for me - even new episodes of House and 24 etc...

It knows to only grab new episodes too, so no reruns! I can use it to pause/rewind live TV (which makes watching a hockey game in the evening even more manageable when the phone rings).

The best part is I don't have to babysit the thing. I have not touched one setting since I bought it in November. I don't have to go and set up new record times and channels etc - it downloads a new guide every 2 nights from Star Choice (my service provider) and then records everything based on what i told it to two months ago.

My boss' neighbour bought one of the Shaw PVRs and said he hasn't even touched it. He can't be bothered having to go in and record everything all the time - he replaced it with a tivo.

(the tivo service is about 10 bucks a month, btw - but well worth it for me)

I considered a Tivo, however they do not have the capability to work with HD.

The system I have is a PVR that works with HD.

Just to remind everybody that this is a for sale post, not a Tivo pros and cons thread.

If you have a question that will sway your buying decision, then go ahead and ask.
