Atlanta residents urged not to go near tall buildings, stand under the sky
(AP) - Atlanta
The sky seems to be getting lower and lower in Atlanta the last few days. After the dismal 0-2-1 start to the season and personal issues with the GM,
Thrashers fans are questioning the team and with only 83 games to go in the regular season, the
Thrashers are in danger of missing the playoffs....or atleast that's what the city would have you believe.
"People here are used to winning so only getting 1 point in 3 games makes them uneasy. People here overreact when the team plays poorly for a few games and that shows how much passion they have here. We love the fact the fans show the emotions that they do. It's good we won't play for a full week from our last game till our next one. It will give Roli a chance to heal after his day 1 injury and get back in there. We missed him the last two games. We've had full practices every other day to work on some things. We've held our opponents to low shot counts but we've given up quality chances and Chris had a bad couple games. He will play alot this year, and even this week where we play the Jets 3 straight days. " - GM Sutaria
In terms of his personal issues, the GM said they are mainly behind him.
"The fans, the team and the rest of the league were great. I had some issues to take care of and alot of rival gm's let me know they were supporting me. It's nice to see that the game can take a backburner when things are up. It's a two way street and I hope every gm knows that in this league."

"There are some good teams in our next 14 games. The Nordique beat us already this year, the Ducks have a very good young squad and the Hawks will challenge for home ice in their conference. You then look at a team like the Lightning who just beat the Rangers. Teams like the Jets and Lightning are rebuilding and their guys are competing for jobs. Those games are never easy to play and if you aren't ready then they can steamroll you. We aren't in panic mode just yet, but if this ship doesn't turn around when our next 14 games are over, you may just see alot of new faces around here. We are probably going to have to win 10 or 11 of those next 14 games to put us in a position where we want to be. We are ready for the challenge as there are so many good teams in the CPHL this year. The team and I are looking forward to it starting with 3 straight games against the Jets." - GM Sutaria
