the art of the Sandwich
There really is no disputing that a Sandwich (I'm talking, like, a really good sandwich) is the best lunch ever. It's delicious and it's got everything the body needs, from every food group.
TOPIC FOR DISCUSSION: The Ingredients for the Perfect Sandwich
I've always found that attitude is the key ingredient to making a great sandwich. You get out what you put in. So from top to bottom, here's my perfect sandwich. (I just made one)
thick bread (brown) TOP
dijon mustard
lettuce
tomato
dill pickle
black forrest ham
sprouts
pepperoni
butter
thick bread (brown) BOTTOM
damnit I love a good samich! top that.

White bun. Left over turkey. Lots of salt.
End of discussion.

For me, I enjoy almost any type of sammach, as long as I can taste the butter. I don't know what it is about butter on a sammach, but it makes me enjoy it that much more.
I've been a fan lately of the onion bun too... yum yum.

DARK turkey, mayo, cranberry sauce, stuffing, butter.
also an interesting take on an old twist happened when i popped by my parents' place when they weren't home to clean out the fridge (because why pay for food?), and there was some non-sweet strawberry sauce on the stove - pretty much strawberries, water, and corn starch with minimum sugar i suspect.
peanut butter and ~sour strawberry sandwich, WOW!
also a note on sandwiches, home-made or even sandwich-maker fresh bread is a huge bonus.

I actually hate sandwiches, unless it's a BMT from Subway. With LOTS of sub sauce and pickles

I love sandwiches, all kinds, but my favourite since I was a little kid has been cheese, tomato and mayo on white bread. A new favourite has been Subways oven roasted chicken breast with lettuce, tomato, mayo, cheese and pickles. I have to stop myself from shedding a tear everytime I have one. It's luck that there are no Subways in the area where I live because otherwise I would eat there everyday and probably weigh a lot more than my current weight.

I love sandwhiches as well. But I usually eat the same old boring thing.
Sprouted Flax bread
1 can of tuna
BBQ sauce
Sarach sauce
I slice of no fat cheese
Not the tastiest. But it is nourishing.

I like to get a fresh, crusty baguette from the bakery for the bread. I cut out a piece and slice it in half, lengthwise, to get a piece an open-faced sandwich can be made on.
Then I top the bread with a bit of dijon mustard, then prosciutto, then a couple tomato slices. Lastly, I sprinkle a bit of pesto over the tomatoes. Now that's a good sandwich.

I like mine simple.
Brown hamburger bun, miracle whip on top and bottom, half a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato.
OR
Brown bread, dijon mustard, ham or beef, cheddar cheese, tomato, red onion, pickle, lettuce, miracle whip, brown bread.
A simple pb&j sandwich is always a good, fast, evening snack, too.

You're all making me hungry and I can't leave work yet!
I'm not a real sandwich person, I like subs.
Either Vietnamese subs or Subway.
Or burgers!

I used to regularly consume a sandwich of multi grain bread, 1% cottage cheese, Romaine Lettuce, Tomatoe, and a can of Flaked White Tuna. Tasted much better than I could have hoped and was fairly healthy too.

Totally agree. I cannot eat bread from the grocery store. I don't even want to know what goes in any bread that lasts longer than two days without becoming completely stale.

That sounds like a good sandwich. Anything with cherry tomatoes on it is good in my books.

Because its tasteless. Might as well serve it to you between two pieces of styrofoam, it would taste much the same.

Just give me a slice of cheese, and some sort of salami like hungarian, or hot genoa, couple slices of bread without any butter. On the rare occasion I'll throw a tad bit of BBQ sauce on it (Bullseye Hickory). I usually nuke it up for a few seconds aswell.
Pretty basic but that's me :P

Mmmmm... I like Thuringer sausage with my cheese and bread.
Otherwise, leftover white turkey meat, mayo, salt, pepper, sometimes gravy, and bread. Delicious. I'm not much of a sandwich person otherwise.
