Outlook: The Hurricanes seem to be a team caught in the middle of transition. A veteran core surrounded by a group of young talented forwards looking to make their mark in the CPHL. For the 1st season the ‘Canes will be able to ice a gritty shutdown line consisting of Stephane Yelle, Jason Blake and Wayne Primeau. Once a team crippled at Center, now has become the teams main strength thanks to the additions of playmaking centers Doug Weight and the bobble head himself Mike Comrie to the solid play of team captain Stephane Yelle. After the scoring assault Milan Hejduk put on the record book last season the Hurricanes hope to continue his success for the GM’s 3d season, but along the way the ‘Canes have added a young sniper-to-be to learn from the single season goal scoring record holder as Alexander Ovechkin primes himself to make waves in the Imlach division. If Yelle and Company can emerge as a solid checking line for the ‘Canes, a post season appearance can be likely…
Camp Battles: Promising young winger Guillaume Latendresse had an impressive camp with the Hurricanes this fall, so impressive the young 18 year-old almost cracked the ‘Canes lineup. Latendresse who has become a fan favorite in Raleigh after the ‘Canes went out on a limb and drafted the winger 6th overall in the 2005 CPHL Entry draft. Almost inches in cracking the lineup the Hurricanes thought it would be best if Latendresse continued to work on his game down in Florida for at lest one more season. You can catch the excitement of that historic day
