Official: Flames sign Brodie to 5 year contract extension ($4.65mil AAV, limited NTC)
per Friedman on HNIC, Flames are working with Brodie's agent on a contract extension right now
update:
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
T.J. Brodie's extension with CGY not done yet but if/when it's done, expectation is it will likely be 5 years with AAV north of $4.5M.
update 2:
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Hearing Brodie AAV will be $4.65M when deal is done, likely tomorrow. Five-year contract.
update 3:

Quote:
CALGARY, AB – The Calgary Flames announced today that they have signed defenceman TJ Brodie to a five-year contract.
A native of Chatham, Ontario, Brodie has started the season with three goals and four assists for a six game point streak which is the longest in the NHL this season and a career high. His 176 minutes of ice time lead all players in the NHL and his seven points are tops amongst NHL defencemen. Brodie, a Flames fourth round pick in the 2008 NHL Draft, has amassed 11 goals and 55 assists for 66 points in 192 career games.

Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
Brodie is a $4.65M AAV. Interesting: his first year is $3.9M -- a nod to Giordano, who has one year left on his deal at $4M. (1/2)
Elliotte Friedman @FriedgeHNIC
The rest is spread out evenly over four years. There is a limited NTC and a no-move clause starting in Year III, when he becomes eligible.

2) CAL talking with D TJ Brodie about a contract extension. He is rapidly becoming one of NHL's top defenders.

Wanted to see what weight TJ is playing at but Flames site is horrible for that, don't bother updating heights and weights. Annoying.

By all accounts it looks like he is playing between 180 - 182 but it seems like he should be at 190 or so.
