So Iginla, Tanguay, Cammalleri et al cannot be equally good teammates to Hudler? Who was asking Hudler to be a leader? My response to you was that 20 goals is more easily attainable than you believe. It isn't too far fetched to see Hudler put up close to 15 in a 48 game season either. Without being a leader.

We will finish as high as 6th and as low as 10 Imo I think our top nine is really underated. Wideman is really underated to what he brings to the offence as well. We made Improvements can't see how the pundits think we will regress from last season. Also I like Kipper in a shotened season. Might be being to optimistic but I like our chances going into this season better than last.

Kudos to Hartley if they make the playoffs. Would be a welcome surprise.

Reasons for optimism? A guy detroit didn't think was worth resigning. A 27 year old who has never played in north america. A offensive dman who is a defensive liability. A coach who hasn't coached in the nhl for over 3 years. A system the players have had all of 5 days to digest...

Baertshi is legit, but all the other reason for optimism are complete unknowns at this point in time... Is it any surprise the media isn't convinced? No, its not a conspiracy

^ And that's called looking for all the negatives. Some that don't even exist, you guys just invented them on here. Tunnel vision, much? There are a hell of a lot of upset Detroit fans about Hudler leaving. Cervenka is considered an All-Star caliber player from those in europe who've watched him. And Hartley's won the cup... he's won the biggest prize in the game.. Yet you're nit picking for some little negative, about how the THRASHERS underachieved? Bahaha. The fact that he got them into the post-season is miraculous work, if anything.

If some of you think all our off-season pickups were sh*t, and it's going to be such a horrible result this year, before it's even started, then why even come on here and go on about it, about how you're soo right? Why even care, if it's so surely going to be a flop? Don't you have better things to do with your time? Go be a pens fan if you can't be happy about anything this team does. I strongly encourage it!

obviously you guys don't think that's strange, but I raises questions for me.
This is the first I have heard of it. Do you have a link to confirm any of this?

If this team makes the playoffs, Hartely has to be considered for coach of the year.

We have a top line?

Last I checked we don't have any #1 center and they were making Tanguay play center. To me it sounds more like they'll be juggling line combinations by week #2 more than anything else. Tanguay has never faired so well playing center I dont see why it would change now.

Most optimism we have is Baertschi. Hoping that he lights it up and can be in on the Calder.

dude you are #####ing hilarious!

so a fan always has to be myopic? they have to buy into the party line? I say one thing about why TSN thinks the Flames finish 14.

Obviously you, somehow believe every move Calgary has made is gold! And they'll finish what? 8th? 5th? So, you are smarter than guys that do this for a living and guys that actually played in the NHL.

I come here to amuse myself, watching people like you, get all in a twitter because the media calls it like they see it. Now THAT is gold.

It'll be even more fun if the Flames finish out of the playoffs - that'll probably be a NHL conspiracy because how much they "hate" us right!?

This ought to be fun!

How about both signature and avatar? From the end of the regular season to the first game of the next?
