Surprised not to see the thread on this yet. Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway is buying AltaLink from SNC Lavalin for $3.2B. This is huge deal and a massive valuation for a utility transmission company that makes its income from a Government-regulated fixed rate of return on its assets. Also, the deal separates AltaLink from SNC Lavalin that's been tainted really bad by the recent bribery scandal.

Um.. I thought the whole deregulation of the electric power industry meant that it is no long government regulated... It is just your average monopoly situation.
