Like I said before, I was right about CBC getting the rights for both series midway through the round (and the full one on the other side).
Sucks that it goes down that way.

Both game 7s will be on at the same time if Chicago wins. Dumb decision.

Probably a 1 and a half, maybe two hour time difference if scheduled properly. Not the greatest, but still you can watch the last two period of the second game on all likelihood.

I think the best case scenario in that situation would be to have a 6:30 and a 7:30 local start. I'm really hoping they don't go with a 6/8 local start as most people here will still be at work when that first game begins and will be for an hour. Don't like having it as a back to back either, is there some reason they can't have Boston Pittsburgh on the Thursday night so they're not on the same night and not a back to back?

I imagine they have a date in mind for when the finals will start (Friday or Saturday). So they want to ensure that day is set, and that no team has a one extra day of rest before the finals start.
Personally I hate when there are two day breaks in between games anyway. The NBA does that too often, and it can just kill any momentum the series might have.

Really? In an ideal world the conference finals would be WCF one night, ECF next night, WCF next night and so on. Gives the players enough time to rest up and allows everyone to follow both series very closely. Especially with a LA-DET/CHI final with teams flying across the country.

It is stupid to start with a West final game first where both previous series went 7 games and the Eastern teams sit for a week idle...

I gather Boston's stadium is not available on Monday/Tuesday. That is why the extra delay.

They should have started the Eastern Final yesterday or today, at latest tomorrow.

I can't imagine there is any desire at all to have game 1 of a conference final completely ignored due to game 7 of the other conference final taking place on the same day.

It's not like it would have been on at the same time as yesterday's game. Could have easily had the games back to back.
But if they didn't do that, why not Thursday?

Even if they're not on at the same time the coverage would be dominated by a game 7, which is hardly how you want to start your conference final series. No need to compete with yourself if you don't have to.
Not sure about Thursday, may be due to future availability and scheduling.
