Default While Kipper is out, The Who Starts Next Game Thread

While Kipper is out, I think it's fair to ask the question as to who should start the next upcoming game.

*****not just for Saturday's game, but all games going forward while Kipper is out*****

Leland was fine tonight, but nothing special but he did get the W.

He can be faulted on the first goal as he lost the net there. Second goal, he had no chance and the third one was tough as well as it went thru Gio's legs and looks like he caught it late.

If Leland stole the show tonight, then he'd be a no brainer for Saturday. But he didn't, he was fine, nothing special.

Is there an argument to be made for Danny Taylor to start on Saturday? He's got fantastic numbers in Abby, do we see what we got in him?

I think Hartley should give Taylor a long hard look for Saturday.

Irving won the game, Irving gets the next start.

Changing goalies after a win is stupid, especially considering it was the winning goalies first start in a long time.

What exactly did you expect Irving to do in his first NHL start in 11 months...better than kippers first few games. Jesus I guess since Sven hasn't scored 6 goals yet we should get rid of him too. He played fine so we should take a shot on a wildcard goalie and crush his confidence? Solid plan.

Irving was spectacular in beating Vancouver last year. You play him until he loses. Then you evaluate.

Leland. It was his first game of the season and the flames won.

I would go so far as if Leland really stinks it up, feaster will make a trade before Danny gets the start.

Have to give it to Irving. What message would it send if you have the next game to Taylor?

Irving without a doubt.

Even if Irving had a bad game I wouldn't want Taylor until he gets a bit more used to NHL shots in practice, on the FAN960 today they were talking about how he looked pretty surprised about how good the shots were in their morning practice and looked pretty overwhelmed.

Irving got the win and there is a day break, so I don't see why he doesn't get the next one. He was OK tonight.

Irving has started off tentatively, suggesting he's self conscious and a bit lacking in confidence.

Take the next start away from him and you only feed his self doubt. Let him play, let him build himself up.

I think Clint would say Leland goes. Any chance we could get a gif of that AC??

Irving, easily. This should not even be in question.

Exactly my point, he played fine. He didn't play great. He'll need to be a lot better on Saturday if the Flames want a win. I'm not saying Taylor should definitely get the start, but I think it's something Hartley will need to think about.

I also meant this as an on going thread to discuss/debate as we go along with no Kipper, not just for Saturday's game.

No question about it - you go with Irving.

You have to give him a chance to build off the win. Also, he was lights out in Vancouver last year

Do people forget that Taylor outplayed Irving in Abby this year and had he had a contract would have beaten out Leland for the backup job a couple weeks ago?

Leland got the gig, more due to circumstance as opposed to merit from the play in AHL.

No one forgets that. And Irving was only so so tonight... we all know these things.

But it's absolutely Irving again on Saturday.

It isn't a debate
