So we could trade a 4th rounder for him at the 2017 deadline and have him as our 3rd line RW on our march to the Cup this spring! Obviously...

stats don't really do anything for me in that regard.

Draft day... that is a different story.

This year's draft picks were born this year i was in high school.... i always ponder my age on draft day when i see their birth years.

It is going to be so weird when they start listing players at the draft born in the year 2000 in 2 years. That will really hit home how old we're getting.

In the year two thousand... in the year TWO THOUUSAANDD! (still the best Conan bit).

I am old as hell - I recall Jagr's rookie year. I remember taking Robitaille as a rookie in my hockey pool. My favorite player for a while was Cournouyer because I had #12 PJs and my uncle told me that was his number.

Gaudreau - Monahan - Chiasson
Frolik - Backlund - Brouwer
Tkachuk - Bennett - Iginla

Did Iginla ever fight Keith Tkachuk?

No.

Did fight a few active players though: Phaneuf, Byfuglien, Kesler, etc...

Matthew might need a few Rocky style training montages before he seeks revenge from that group though.

I remember when Tuesday's were important because that was the day the Herald would publish the stats for all the NHL players rather than just the box scores.

Or, you had to wait for your Hockey News. Which was an actual newspaper.

Tuesday was hockey pool day! That's the day I would find out that I knew nothing about picking players for a pool and would get mocked mercilessly by my friends.

Ahhh memories.

The Edmonton Oil Kings had three players with 2001 birth years in their line up for their pre-season games against the Hitmen last weekend.
