So Monday night games are Prime only? I won't get those games with a regular Sportsnet+ subscription?

Stadium series with Detroit and Columbus is such a garbage offering. Why would the NHL waste their time on that?

I think the Sportsnet article is a bit misleading…

IIUC from the other articles, the 5 Prime games don’t need a SN subscription.

Question is, will they be blacked out.

Fresh meat. Ohio is full of suckers who have never paid for an outdoor hockey game.

They're about to blow a lot of money to find out what they haven't been missing.

Is it just the regular Prime subscription that I need to watch the games, or do I need to shell out extras for them?

It’s the NHL. What do you think?

How is the Prime thing suppose to work with bars and restaurants ?? I highly doubt Amazon is going to allow a corporate account for $99 or whatever to steam games. Heck, a lot of places don't even have the smart tv's for this to work.

5 games for the Flames is nothing but the marquee teams this is significant pain in the butt. This just seems like a garbage play in general and makes things harder for a lot of fans. Frankly I HATE watching hockey games on internet steams, I don't care what anybody says, there is always that slight lag and checkering that happens. I need a cable subscription to watch the game properly

I'm pretty sure this doesn't change anything with cable, just streaming. Cable will still get all the games, but streaming now will suck for people like me.

I'm in BC so I don't get games on cable outside of Flames/Canucks or National Flames games. I've been getting the Sportsnet+ so I can watch the Flames games and now I also have to get Amazon Prime or I miss some Monday games. Dumb

These are exclusive to Amazon. They won't be on cable or satellite in Canada.

If you don't have Prime, you won't see them.

Bars/restaurants etc used to have a business version of things like NHL Centre Ice or NFL Sunday Ticket that cost a #### ton more for them to broadcast in their establishments as they obviously would make money off of having that. Unsure if thats still the case.

Michigan vs. Ohio State, pretty obvious. This will be a big success in that area.

edit: speaking of which, Flames are in Columbus the Friday of US Thanksgiving. I always go to the Columbus game. THE GAME is the next day at The Horseshoe. I've only been to one game there and it was several years ago after the Flames played there and Ohio State beat Purdue 49-0. It was 42-0 at the half! I am going to have to figure out a way to go.

Illegal streams. Problem solved. You don't have to pay for anything unless you choose to.

Has the college rivalry carried over to the NHL? Do Colombus and Detroit have an ongoing rivalry? They aren't even in the same NHL division so they end up playing two or three times a year.

We cut the cable cord last year and it was nice to know I could watch every Flames game if I chose too. I don't watch as much as I used to, but it's annoying to know that I'm already getting less value from my Sportsnet+ subscription not even a full year into it.

One of our older TVs gets its streaming content from a Roku, and Sportsnet doesn't support Roku with its app. So it's an annoying screen mirroring from my PC to that RV when we want to watch on it. These Amazon games are just another hurdle now, I guess.
