Do we bring back Tre ?
So with the season coming to an end. What does everyone figure do we re-sign Treliving ?
I can see many reasons to bring him back. I can see lots of reasons no too. As it stands I think we do re-sign but wouldn't be surprised if we don't.

Again, without hesitation. Exactly one problem with the Flames this year was his fault: Troy Brouwer. Even then, that's easily rectifiable and not totally crippling.
Versteeg, the goaltending, Chiasson, Stone... you name it. Treliving is a phenomenal GM.

I'm with a firm no.
Did not execute on a proper goalie, failed at free agency with Brouwer and Gg

We should but I guess now we will find out what the deal is with him not being re-upped earlier. Maybe it's just a formality but nothing surprises me anymore so I'm cautiously optimistic he's back. That said he really needs to sort out the goaltending situation.

For Christ's sake.
Free agency:
Brouwer - bad.
Versteeg - very good.
Chiasson - good.
Johnson - average to good.
And, once again, Gulutzan led the Flames to a 17-point improvement over 15-16, turning them into a terrific possession team. He made exactly one bad move in free agency, and in bringing in Elliott he brought in a two-time All-Star who had led the NHL in save percentage the previous season.
Treliving is a fantastic GM.

We better. He has been GM for 3 seasons taking over a rebuild and we have made the playoffs twice.

Yes bring him back. He has work left to do.
I'd be ok with disconnecting his phone on July 1 though.

I think he's overrated and actually has mostly average or good on paper moves
But I think he's back as you can't change GMs every few years, especially if you make playoffs 2/3 years

I honestly don't believe you ca see "lots of reasons not to." Treliving is a very good GM. I am quite sure he will be extended in the next few weeks.

Odd emphasis. You don't bring in a goalie entirely for his past accomplishments in different circumstances but for his potential in your situation. Turned out to be an epic fail.
Otherwise, fancy stats don't win games, or series . Obviously

Yes without a doubt. Anyone saying no is completely out to lunch and that's not even an opinion, that's a fact. Took a bottom five team to the playoffs in one year.
