Best Place to Buy Winter Tires.
'Tis the season for Winter Tires and I was wondering if anyone could help me out with some web sites that sell Winters. The best I have found are on www.1010tires.com they have a set of 4 Firestone Winter Force for $680 with free shipping. Any other sites anyone can think of for me to try would be great, obviously a Canadian site would be beneficial for shipping cost purposes. Much thanks in advance.

The one advantage to Tire Rack is that they have more selection of wheels and rims, 1010 tires does not have rims for my vehicle.
Note that Nokian does not allow online sales of its tires. So, other than the oddball small dealer, you can't buy them online. Only at KAL tire.

Price Comparison for Winterforce tires in 195/65/15
Tire Rack US$ 420.15 including brokerage, duty (C$ 460 approx.)
Tire Trends C$ 497.49
1010 Tires C$ 521.27
In my opinion, you are better off buying the Conti ExtremeWinterContact tires for only $9 more each. These are a top rated tire in the Norwegian tire test.

Obviously you haven't been watching Flames games, otherwise you have been inundated with the annoying and stupid "4 for 3" Fountain Tire guy. Man...ads on Flames games are so bad, 99% of the time, it turns me off the product.

I used to buy all of my tires online, including a purchase from Tiretrends.com many many years ago right after they launched. It was $5/tire shipping, then $7.50, then $10.... but now it has soared, especially if ordering from (the cheaper) tirerack.com or other American based retailers.
In short, it seems cheaper to buy from a local place now?
I went the cheap route this time and got 4 Nexen (S.Korean Company) winter tires installed, 205/60/16, for $360 installed - taxes included. I am very happy with them, and surprisingly happy with Walmart service.
I had thought about 4 Nokian All Weather Tires from Kaltire at $850/4 or ordering 4 Conti ExtremeWintercontact tires for about $600 (shipping and taxes in) but couldnt pass on the Walmart savings.
For the record, Walmart also had really nice (and softer) Hancook Aurora Winter Tires for $13 more/tire. Also a great hard-to-beat deal.

I'm buying my winter tire package from Kramer Mazda. 4 Firestone Winterforce (205/55/16) mounted, balanced and installed on steel winter wheels for $799 plus tire tax and GST. So it totals about $855. I did the same package on 1010tires.com and it was over a hundred dollars more and I would either have to install them myself or pay a shop to do it. Seems like a decent deal to me. Plus I need my oil changed and I can get that done at the same time.

Watch out for Kal-tire, they have surcharge upon surcharge. What the price of the tire is not even close to what you will finally pay.

I know there are a lot of Mazda 3 owners out there.
Here is what my dealer is offering right now:
Thoughts/comments? Where are you 3 owners getting your winter tires from? Anyone know what the wheel covers look like? Are they worth getting?

I was going to get Package 01 next week on my Mazda 3.
I phoned a couple different places and it seemed like a decent deal. Kal-Tire wanted $1600 for a set of 4 nokians with alloy rims, new lugs, mounted, balanced and installed with taxes.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Not a bad deal.
I got a $50 off coupon in my email this morning to Kramer:
So I think I'll get the wheel covers too.
Let me know if that link doesn't work.

We looked around for awhile, and found that Okotoks Honda was equal to Costco. We decided to go with them, and will be getting the Michelin XIce.

Those deals do not seem that good to me at all? As far as I know none of those are truly premium winter tire models, and you can get comparable so-so winter tires for half that price elsewhere?
I find it hard to believe you'd ever get close to a good price buying direct from your car dealer though?
What rim size is that though? 17inch? I guess that makes the pricing a bit more competitive....

Those prices are for 16" wheels. If you see a better price somewhere else, feel free to post it. I haven't paid for anything yet, so I can totally buy something else.
