Default Let's talk wallets

I have had a bifold, brown "classic" wallet for as long as I can remember. Not one, but many of them throughout the years.

My current one is a Wise Owl brand. I have had it for a few years, I don't remember where it came from but it was probably a Christmas or Birthday gift, I'm going to guess around five years ago.

About two years ago, I did a bit wallet cleanse and tried to make it look like less of a Constanza wallet.

Now, suddenly, over the past couple of months I have had to replace three of my cards because they have cracked in my wallet.

Now, I'm pretty particular as I have been carrying my wallet in my right rear pocked for probably 40 years or so. My phone goes in my right front pocket, keys and lip balm go in my left front pocket as well as any winning lottery tickets to be traded in. The reason I say that is because I can't go to one of those new-fangle solid wallets. I still want to keep it in my right rear pocket.

What do you use? What do you like or not like?

People - please stop folding bills into four sections. The creases don’t come out of the new bills and they are a pain in the ass to handle. It’s mostly men that do this with their tiny business card size wallets.

I stopped carrying my wallet in back pocket because bank cards were always getting cracked. Also, you won’t get pick-pocketed if you keep wallet in front pocket.

Sorry. I carry a credit card sleeve. 2 credit cards on each side, 2-3 more cards on the inside plus a single bill just for emergencies (i.e. most people only accepting cash for donations).

This is what I splurged on a few years ago.

There is a version that holds more cards, but my goal was to minimize things. This wallet has stayed in better shape than most of the bifold I used to carry. Really happy with it

I bought this tactical wallet a few years ago from a fellow in Ukraine when the war started to support him.

This is me too, due to having a credit card sized Machine Era one from a few years ago. And even though I'm in retail and handle cash like this all the time it doesn't bother me. Sorry not sorry.

I bought this at Winners for $20 a few years ago it is holding up.

I fold the phuck out of my bills. I also, to the anger of our finance department, fold the phuck out of all my expense receipts.

I’ve given in to the hard minimalist wallets (helps that I sell them) and would never go back. It forced me to keep it in a front pocket (better for back/hips/cards/etc) but the biggest benefit was realizing I don’t need 90% of the crap I was carrying around with me. I have used Secrid wallets not for years and like the fact that I can still have some cash and it not being a burden

Ögon saved my life. My golden retriever liked to chew my wallet to get to the cards inside, and then chew them too. Since I switched to this one, I stopped having to buy wallets and get replacement drivers licences.

Tonnes of money and time saved!

Also, businesses are not banks. We are not here to launder your jar of loose coins. You don’t want nickels and dimes? Neither do we.

If I seem grouchy, I have to say my complaints are very minor compared to being a lawyer. Working retail and service is 100% less stressful.

I've been using one of these:
https://secrid.com/en-global/wallets/slimwallet/
for the past few years and it's been really solid. Took a bit of getting used to, but have slimmed down to just the essential cards I need to carry and a few bills. Handling change is a bit of a chore now, but thankfully not something that comes up too often.

I would be worried that if one lost or misplaced that, you would be really hooped.
