Default TSN's NHL Season Preview Show

Thought I'd create a thread for those that want to discuss TSN's season preview show.

It's on TSN2 from 6-7:30.

Bottom 3 in the West are Coyotes (last), Canucks, Oilers.

The central division is going to be best in the league this year hands down. The Jets should be a good team and that 6th place finish isn't crazy.

Now that I have a hard time believing. The caps have shown us year after year that they can't get it done in the playoffs.

Fair enough but there was a clear change to Ovechkin's commitment to the other side of his game last season and I think Trotz has gotten through to him. I think they'll do well.

Plus holtby is emerging as an elite tender. Don't underestimate the impact of that.

Ovechkin hasn't been the issue for Washington.

They have finally built some support (oshie and williams) and with the emergence of holtby they will be a force.

I was stunned that Holtby wasn't one of the goalies for selection in my box-style pool this season. 3 boxes, 8 goalies in each box. No Holtby.

I like how they were somewhat honest about the oilers. They may have improved because of McDavid but they're still pretty terrible. They did make McDavid out to seem too much of a big deal. I know he's going to be good but I think they went overboard.

Pretty realistic projections are nice to see!

Have they finally learned to stop projecting the Oilers as playoff contenders each year?

They always seem a crushing game 7 loss away from making a long run. It's one of those things like the Flames winning a first round series in 2004 where a team get's that monkey off their back and rolls. Not saying I'm certain it will happen as it never happened for the Sharks but in that conference it's a possibility and they did make some solid looking moves this offseason that would indicate they should be improved this season.

They obviously did not consult Terry Jones as he has systematically determined that the Oilers offseason changes equate to a 99 point season.

I'm honestly shocked they've ranked the Oilers that low. I totally agree with the low ranking, I'm just surprised that a hockey media outlet - especially a Canadian one - isn't doing the annual all aboard the Oilers "this is the year!!" pre-season predictions. The road less traveled?

I don't think they'll realize that till just before the Christmas break. Then they'll turn their attention to the other rooks in the league, the Eichels, Bennetts, and Ehlers, etc.

However, Dreger will be the one to continue to push the McDavid envelope because he has no substance.
