Leafs @ Flames. 6:30 MT. Sportsnet
Note the earlier start time. Gotta make sure the Leafs fans don't stay up too late.
Johnny and Bouma skated by themselves today.
While Johnny's injury doesn't preclude him from skating, it is a sign Bouma might be returning relatively soon.

MAPLE LEAFS (10-8-4) VS. FLAMES (10-13-2)
BROADCAST: 6:30 PM MT; Sportsnet (TV), Sportsnet 960 The FAN (radio)
SEASON SERIES: The Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs will meet twice this season. Wednesday's game is the first in the two-game set, with the series wrapping up on Jan. 23, 2017 in Toronto. In 2015-16, the Flames had a 1-1-0 record against the Leafs, picking up their win on Feb. 9, 2016 at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Dougie Hamilton, who scored the game-winner in the Flames' victory, led all Calgary skaters with three points against Toronto last year.
LEAFS TEAM SCOPE: The Leafs kicked off their western Canadian road trip with a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday. Auston Matthews, James van Riemsdyk, Nazem Kadri and Zach Hyman scored and Frederik Andersen made 22 saves on 24 shots in the victory. Toronto is now one point shy of the New Jersey Devils, who hold the second Wildcard spot in the Eastern Conference. van Riemsdyk and rookie Mitch Marner lead the team in scoring with 19 points each while Matthews, the first overall pick at the 2016 NHL Draft, has 18 points on the year. In net, Andersen has gone 10-6-3 in his first 19 games with the Leafs, posting a 2.92 GAA and a .912 save percentage. Jhonas Enroth has played in five games, going 0-2-1 with a 4.21 GAA and a .866 save percentage.
FLAMES TEAM SCOPE: Wednesday's game is the start of a three-game homestand for the Flames. After tonight's match-up, they will face the Minnesota Wild on Friday and the Anaheim Ducks on Sunday. They wrapped up their season-long road trip on Monday, going 3-2-1 on their six-game trek across the northeastern United States. Goaltender Chad Johnson got the start in four of those games, going 3-1-0. Brian Elliott started two of the games on the trip, posting a 0-1-1 record. With a 10-13-2 record and 22 points, the Flames trail the Nashville Predators and Los Angeles Kings, who are sitting in the Western Conference Wildcard spots, by three points.

I hope we get crappy Enroth. Andersen's stats are a little misleading because Toronto has almost no team defence. 3rd worst in the league per game.

Edit: Wills posted a quick video of Gaudreau skating & shooting. Looks promising, albeit brief.

2.5% home PP%.
That changes tonight with 3 PPGs and a 5-1 victory.

Optional skate, so this might not mean much:
Kristen Odland @Kristen_Odland
A really optional AM skate today. No Giordano, Brouwer, Stajan, or Backlund. Jankowski is on the left side w/Monahan & Versteeg right now.

Janko might be scratched.
Aaron Vickers @AAVickers
Early guesses on #Flames lines: Versteeg-Monahan-Brouwer; Tkachuk-Backlund-Frolik; Bennett-Stajan-Chiasson; Ferland-Hamilton-Hathaway

Janko should be in place of Hamilton IMO.

There might be some truth in that logic. White ice. White pads.

I hope Janko gets a chance to play at the Dome tonight.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Literally the cleanest hit ever and Kadri whines for the rest of the game LoL. What a little bitch.
It would be so perfect if Gio clobbers him again.

So I guess all those posters who argued with me that pad colors don't make a difference were wrong. Didn't like the red pads to begin with and thankfully he got rid of them.
