Of course. No reason to keep him up when you are aiming to draft one of the big two.

He wasn't ready. Though interesting, I remember hearing something like 'whoever takes Reinhart too early is going to get fired'

He really didn't do a whole lot in the Sabres games I watched, however in fairness, neither did anyone else. Just for his own psyche, Reinhart is better off playing in Kootenay rather than that mess of an organization.

Watched Reinhart and he just looked so slow compared to everyone else on the ice. Wasn't very impressed with him on my Gamecenter viewings of him.

Did they waste a year on that ELC?

Probably for the best. Sam was apparently pretty average over there, this should let him further develop his skills and leadership.

He didn't look anywhere near ready. It takes effort to not stand out on their team. He's young, but his performance was concerning. Usually high picks talent will pop at times even if they aren't quite ready... I didn't see any 'pop' from Reinhart when I watched.

Buffalo has played 11 games, but they scratched Sam twice. So no, they didn't.

Makes sense. Let the tank continue!

Good idea. Team losing will be toxic, let him develop in junior, and let the tank continue.

It's this comment from the pre-draft thread that will have me watching Reinhart like a hawk for the forseable future. I wish we could confirm if a team's head-scout truly said this.

It's the best decision. He is just not ready, and there is no shame in that.

I'm not really sure what sending Reinhart back to the WHL has to do with tanking? They would have sucked with him, instead they will suck without him.
The scouts were proved right that this was a weak draft though. Of the top 5, only Ekblad has stuck. Reinhart sent down, Draisaitl touch and go(probably kept because of the Oilers abysmal lack of C depth), Bennett would have probably been given the 9 then sent down, if not sooner. Not sure how many other 2014 draftees have made their teams on merit.

Hes kind of in that no mans land where maybe he is having trouble with the NHL right now but he isn't exactly going to "develop" anymore in junior either. If he can keep himself motivated he'll probably top a 2 ppg average while sleep walking through half the games in the WHL.
