Baillie looked good, but bumped off the puck far too often

All easy cuts. Give them a few things to work on and send them to their respective CHL camps.

Lots of positives with each player, but they have a long way to go. Nothing unexpected. I will be expecting a bunch more cuts maybe after tomorrow.

I had higher hopes for Baillie, but he just didn't show much.

Karnaukhov was a pleasant surprise. I look forward to following his progress.

Now that he is more comfortable with North America, I think he will take a huge jump forward this year

I heard he showed up to camp with his tie undone and his hair in a mess.

Is Mason Marchment related to that Marchment?

If so, good riddance.

Completely different players, not that I minded his dad when he played for us.

Marchment senior was one of the few additions I couldn't get on board with, because he was so dirty.

That said, I wasn't going to visit his sins on his son. Funny how sometimes the sons of goonish players turn out to be skill guys. (See Max Domi).

Karnaukhov impressed mightily this camp. Kudos to the kid for adapting so well in so little time. After getting a glimpse of him playing hockey, he could be a gamer for the Flames in a couple of years.

Yeah, I was really hoping he would be in the lineup tonight before being sent down - haven't had a chance to see him live yet.

I have a feeling he takes a big step forward this year, now that he is more comfortable with NA.

Edit: oops, said that already

I'm probably a broken record on this point but at the prospects tournament Karnhaukov was almost perfect in the faceoff dot. The best on the Flames easily. Thats a skill the Flames are always n need of so even if he ends up as a Stephan Yelle lite or closer, that is a heck of a pick.

His improving English certainly won't hurt, either.

Saw Hartley talk to 87 quite a bit yesterday and didn't know who he was. He didn't seem like he wanted to be there like he knew it was coming.

87 was Marchment.
