Budweiser Limited Edition Red Light Worth Crazy Money!
I don't know if this is actually worthy of its own thread, but I am shocked that the Red Light sold out within minutes, and now is going to crazy money on eBay!
That's madness! I guess running that crappy commercial with fake hockey names was a great marketing tool for Budweiser. NHL.com even sells a similar light for less, but you don't see those selling for $500+.
If anyone on CP actually ended up buying one you should probably sell them, then rebuy them when they make more next year.
The NHL one doesn't trigger via a Wi-Fi connection, I don't think. You need to actually press a button, while the Bud one has game information streamed to it and goes off on its own.

not if you have the game PVR'ed and start watching 10 minutes after each period starts to ffwd commercials.
Like many on this board, I thought bud swung and missed with this concept. Cool no doubt but to claim it will change hockey forever.....weak!

I wonder how close the light would go off to when the goal is actually scored. I know the scores are 5-8 mins behind on various score sites. $500+ is redonkilous

That lame ass commercial RGMG...Shanko and Lando, sounds like something a 10 year old wrote.
I know my phone is usually at least a few minutes behind for scoring updates, how hilarious would it be if it always went off after the goal? Personally I think they're pretty tacky.

They sell online for $149 + taxes and shipping - www.budweiser.ca - as long as you don't mind waiting till June 10 this year for their shipment to arrive

my fear would it be going off before the goal because of a delay in the programming. I would much prefer the NHL.com one and just press the button, that could be fun if you are watching teh game with a group of buddies.

Any bets on if the timing is closer than sportsnet west broadcasts?

The Rob Kerr feature of announcing goals before you see them go in.
