I said Vancouver's 1st and a 2nd. That seems to be the expected return value from all the rumour stuff I have heard.

I would be good with Tanev coming back. I am hearing goalie values are still fairly high. No idea what that means as far as return goes.

We should not be trading any picks for Win now/win soon Roster players right now.

Conroy has made it pretty clear he is open to trading picks for long term pieces that can help the team now and in the future.

He hasn’t made it clear. You are taking what he said literally and applying your own thoughts to it.

Necas isn’t even the age range he talked about.

I will say it with certainty that we see zero picks moved for roster players, unless it’s a package of trading Markstrom for a significant piece up front.

I will say with certainty I think you are wrong. Hey everybody, don't take anything Conroy says literally. Necas is definitely in the age range he is looking at, I am pretty sure he will call about him to see what the price is. Considering there have been lots of hints from guys who cover the team all the time like the guys on Flames talk that there is no way Conroy is making all those pics I will go by what they say. They are pretty connected to things.

I’ve heard nothing from the writers or media saying we are trying to build a playoff team for next year.

He also said he’s targeting 18-22 year olds not a 25 year old winger. He also said how hard it is to get those picks. We didn’t strip away the team only tongo and throw away those picks.

This is a rebuild. The roster is a bad one. We are not a few trades away from the playoffs. We are probably a good 3 drafts away before we even contend for a playoff spot.

First of all Necas is a centre, not a winger. The GM has said the mandate is to make the playoffs next year, that is not me reading into anything, that is fact. The mandate from ownership is to try and get back in the playoffs next year, also fact. It is not a rebuild, it is a retool on the fly to get back to competing as fast as possible. The organization has made this very clear and whether it is right or wrong to do so that is reality, no amount of wishing from the rebuild crowd is going to change it.

This is a rebuild. He can sub whatever he wants. His actions show this is a rebuild. We have made zero trades that make this a “retool”. We have zero players to retool around.

Of course they tell the public the playoffs are the goal. They still have to sell tickets and build a culture. It’s just not a scorched earth rebuild.

If Necas is a Flames it’s likely because Markstrom is a cane and not a bunch of picks being wasted on him.

If this was a rebuild Weegar, Andersson, Backlund, Kadri, Coleman would all be on the block right now.

That’s why I said it’s not a scorched earth rebuild. And you need good vets to have the young players to learn from or we will be San Jose.

We will see in Juky what the team looks like. Anyways.

Bigger issues at hand here. Oilers must go.

Tanev on a 1 or 2 year contract would be a great mentor for young D, then could be traded at the TDL for more assets. Works for him, too, gives him a chance to be traded to a contender and improves his chances of winning a Cup.

Tanev isn't signing a 1-2 year contract, he's 34 and playing his best hockey, he'll get 3-4 years from someone.

I believe this is incorrect.

32-29 will be DAL/EDM/FLA/NYR

28 and 27 should be CAR and WPG

Which leaves VAN at 26

I could be wrong but I think this is how it will play out.

After the top 4, remaining division winners go next

Thank you. Was not aware of that caveat. Thought it went by overall standings after that.
