Martin's cool temperament was at least as important as his impressive skills as an arranger. The Beatles can't have been easy to work with, showing up wasted half the time and expecting him to do things nobody had ever done in a studio before. And they could be real dicks, like how they stopped including Martin's name on the album credits after reading a couple articles giving him what they thought was too much credit for their recordings.
