If you're not doing any gaming I guess the question is does the photo and video editing software leverage the GPU or not, I don't do enough of that to know. If it does then which one might make a big difference.

Good point about failure rate, maybe a partitioned 4 would be better. Or do 2x4TB in a RAID?
For backups I have 2 3TB externals, and photos go to cloud as well.
Yes, Lightroom can now leverage the GPU as far as I understand.
