Thanks for posting this. Pretty clear they wanted a bonafide #1. He didn't say it, but Elliott's inability to rebound from a poor showing was not something they were going to risk again. A true #1 shouldn't need multiple games to get his form back so here's hoping Smith can get it done.
Also said they weren't interested in another team's young goalie and the cost it would take to acquire one.
