Bartkowski is the perfect #7 for this team. Let a young guy make a run at the #6 spot, with Bartkowski stepping in when needed.
Trading for Hamonic and signing Stone would give the Flames a great top 5 D, meaning that it would be less risky to let the rookies + Bartkowski take a run at #6. My only concern is mortgaging the future.
The D looks set for long term in the prospect pool, as does Goalie, but I am concerned about the Wing depth, especially RW. Trading the 2018 first means after only 1 pick in top 100 picks this year, looking at the same next year, but even worse as it would not likely be until later 3rd round. That is a real hole in the prospect pipeline, that could hurt down the road.

This trade, should it go through, makes me feel that the Flames have identified their best window as the next 3 years, before Giordano declines. Then if they don't win by then, they may need to start recouping prospects from the next couple of drafts to rebuild the pipeline
