You're a little ahead of your time! We will have an end of season sale in general, likely in the next week. We'll have some pretty good deals and you still have about 5 weeks to get out and do some fall fishing. Spawning Brookies are particularly beautiful and you can catch those throughout October to try out the new gear!
Kids rods are a tougher issue. We don't really have anything and I don't know if anything specifically for kids exists. Mine just use my rods and I stick to them using the smaller rods. So for example I have a 3wt which is only 7.5 feet long and they can handle that. My friend also has that same set-up for his little boy.
You can land big fish on a light rod, it just takes a little work. But when the kids catch something that is 8-10" the rod bows and its pretty awesome for them!
