Dont go cheap, you're there for a few days, spend the money it takes to enjoy Vegas. All aspects, not just hotel.

FWIW, if you want extreme luxury, nothing comes even close to Mandarin or the Four Seasons. I've stayed at the mandarin in vegas and four seasons in other cities and it is easily the best hotel experience I've ever had. Mandarin was great in Vegas as there was no casino on site (though aria was 2 minutes away) and was a nice oasis on the strip. Highly recommended.
