Despite salespeople assurances and comments from so-called 'experts', image burn still exists on, from personal experience, low to mid-range sets. Panasonic, LG, Samsung, and Sharp...again, from personal experience.

As such, I'm an LED guy. I have a 40" Samsung LED and a 47" LG LED and they are absolutely beautiful sets...both pretty mid-range too. Thin, light, and with great picture. My 42" Insignia, however, is pretty below average. Of course, I didn't really notice until I bought the LG and the Samsung. Also owned an LED Sharp Aquos, and it had vertical banding...for what it's worth...

However it works out, I hope you enjoy your new purchase, and good luck in the buying process.
