It sounds like he has had an awesome year if he has improved tremendously. I've always thought parents get too excited over wins and losses where they should be focusing more on if their child developed over the year and felt like he learned lots.
Spring hockey is okay, but sometimes I think parents feel if they spend more they will play on a "better" team then the cheaper teams, when at the end game all of our kids are playing beer league anyways.
