Well a 6 is a good all-around rod and you can probably make it work just fine. The tough part is if you get into something huge. The challenge with some of those weights though is firing out the big streamers. You can make it work with a 6 though and I've done that for sure on rivers and streams for trout. Sweet, we are going to give it a shot this weekend. Hopefully the weather stays warm for the weekend! And I don't have a very expensive rod, so I am not too worried if I get a fish large enough to break it, that will be a great story!!
