Here's the weird thing: Ferland ALSO has arbitration rights and Treliving didn't flinch on qualifying him. Either he doesn't think nearly as highly of Chiasson and is comfortable with losing him, or he's worried that his comparable contracts are going to drive up the price on a guy he thinks is replaceable.
He must've learned from the Bouma deal.
