Default RAFFLE - Autographed Mark Giordano Jersey - Blind Hockey

Red Flames Jersey - Signed on the numbers.
Draw Date: March 19, 2017
Only 500 tickets to be sold*
Cost - $5.00 per ticket

*While 500 tickets are printed we typically sell around 250-300, and while I'd like us to sell out, and I'm hoping this statement helps, there are better odds of winning when we don't*

As it has been asked in past years, the jersey is a large this year.

Proceeds go towards supporting the Calgary Blind Hockey Association. The Calgary Blind Hockey Association provides an opportunity for the blind and visually impaired to experience hockey first hand. The jersey was generously donated from the Flames Alumni who have been amazing supporters of blind hockey for many years. http://calgaryseeingicedogs.ca/

One funding area that has increased in need the past few years relates to the teams involvement with Courage Canada. Courage Canada does drills and skating lessons with blind youth and helps them build skills that could eventually see them play hockey. Once a year they host an annual tournament for blind players across the country and we do use some of the money we raise to help cover some of the costs of attending the tournament. http://blindicehockey.com/

Please send me a PM if interested.

In 2011 we had some great support from CP, and the winner was actually Delgar from CalgaryPuck.

In 2012 I also sold the winning ticket following great support from CalgaryPuck to GreatWhiteEbola.

In 2014 JonDuke another winner from Calgarypuck won.

In 2016, we had the most support from CP ever, but unfortunately that year the winning ticket did not go to a CP member

We also had another CP member come out and write a story on us for the Calgary Herald in 2011.

If you know someone who is visually impaired that would be interested in trying hockey please let me know as we are always looking for interest from the visually impaired community. This year has been fairly exciting as we've had a number of new visually impaired players come out. There is a program called Courage Canada, which is trying to get blind youth out and interested in hockey, and they've worked closely with blind hockey teams in most major Canadian cities, which has really helped increase awareness and interest in the blind community.

If you would be interested in volunteering, or have a team that would like to play us, please contact me and we can discuss what the team is about and how you could contribute to this rewarding experience.

If you're interested here are the links to our auctions from the past few years.

I will meet with you, or scan and e-mail a copy of your ticket to you directly. I have in the past accepted cash, paypal, or e-mail money transfers. Although I am away for work this week, so my availability for an in-person meeting starts on Friday when I am back in Calgary

If you are not from the Calgary area, please let me know in advance. I would like to have a discussion up-front to make sure we can arrange something that works prior to collecting your money. In this situation I don't want to ask the team to pay as this is our primary source of funding, so I've been committed to covering the cost to ship personally but if you are located internationally that does increase the complexity/cost.
