So it seems like the show is streamlining some broad stroke developments that are nearly certain to happen in the books. Dorne will ally with a Targaryen, but it may be "Aegon" before things start to converge. Greyjoys may align with Dany before she sails to Westeros, but it may be Euron. Cersei may very well sit on the Iron Throne after dealing with the High Sparrow and Faith Militant, but the show through the Tyrells in there at the same time.
