I think I had an aphid problem, which is attracting the wasps, and I can't see to find a wasp nest but there could be one buried in one of the trees (there are three total). Went to get some traps last night and everyone is sold out so I made some homemade ones out of pop bottles.
Anything else I can do? Can I spray the tree with something to keep the wasps away?

You could try hanging a couple of "Waspinator" decoy nests to deter them from setting up shop. Or a paper bag tied up with a string.
I was skeptical that they'd even work, but I have had a couple in my back yard for a couple of years, and I haven't seen a lot of wasps in my yard over that time. Totally anecdotal, obviously, but perhaps worth a try.
