Default GAME 8: STAMPEDERS at BC

Calgary Stampeders at BC Lions
BC Place
Friday, Aug. 18th

Kickoff: 8:30 p.m. MDT
TV: TSN, ESPN3

Stampeders coming from a bye week is travelling to Vancouver to play the team who just lost to Saskatchewan Roughriders 41-8. BC Lions(5-3) looks awful and played awful last week and I am sure they will come in to the game gunning for a fast start.
Stampeders(5-1-1) on the other hand won their last games, before going on a bye week, over Toronto Argonauts 41-24 and over Hamilton 60-1 the week before the Argo's game.

OFFENSE:
Stampeders lost another receiver Lemar Durant and he will be gone for the season with the knee injury on a freaky play. Luckily R Juwan Brescacin is ready to be back in the lineup tomorrow. FB Rob Cote will be back after spending time on injury list.
QB Bo Levi Mitchell did not finish the game last week for the second week in a row because the score was already blowout. Andrew Buckley did very well in relief for those 2 games. R Marquay McDaniel (8 for 772 yards and 2 TD) and R Davaris Daniels (4 for 76 yards and 1 TD) caught TD passes last game vs Toronto.

DEFENSE:
Defense sacked Argos QB 3 times last week (Hughes, Singleton and Hall)and forced Ricky Ray to leave the game early due to injury. They did a great job the last two games just giving up 2 TD(Fajardo TD pass and rushing TD) and the game was already out of reach.
DL Junior Turner will be playing his first game of the season tomorrow and joining him on the Defensive active roster will be DE Ja'Gared Davis and DL Reuben Frank replacing DT Bryan Hall and since released DB Osagie Odiasse.

SPECIAL TEAM:
Fascinating to see returner Roy Finch the last two games now. Finch returned a punt for a 103 yards touchdown against Toronto Argonauts after returning a punt for a 93-yards touchdown the game before vs the Hamilton Tigercats.

************************************************** *******

With all the injured players starting to get healthy, Stamps released DL Ben D'Aguilar, R Jarred Boykin and DB Osagie Odiasse last week. Off the injured list and starting to practice are LB Deron Mayo and OL/DL Quinn Smith. Smith been practicing the last few weeks now but Stamps coaching would like him to get a few weeks of practice first before they can put him on the active roster especially being in a new position. Mayo, on the other hand had a setback on practice this week and will not play tomorrow night.

GO STAMPS GO!!!!!
