Just have to disagree then. If someone wants a PP specialist with a cannon of a shot from the point, Wideman is good enough, especially if you need a vet to fill that role. Unless you have a discernibly better 6th defenseman with an all-round better game, then the Wideman's of the world will get signed, even if for minimum value and a short contract. And probably the type of signing closer to training camp than July 1 when all the good parts have been picked through
