Many defensemen won't "inspire optimism" until they are already logging 22+ minutes in tight playoff series. His game is understated and lacks the flash of a 'nasty' physical defenseman or a high scoring dynamo, but everything is there, mentally and physically. His future remains to be seen, but IMO the success of a guy like Muzzin, Ekholm, Dumoulin, or Gardiner isn't out of reach.
