She's also resigning as an MLA. In contrast Carol James has continued to serve as an MLA for the BC NDP since getting turfed as leader almost a decade ago. Stockwell Day and Stephane Dion continued to serve their respective federal parties after losing their leadership positions, and I would be surprised if Mulcair resigns from parliament after he gets axed.
