Some of you might see that $5 million figure and balk. Oh man, Scorp just traded another enormous sum of cash. What an idiot.

Well, actually, I save $4.78 million by making this deal, allowing me ample extra space to re-sign my very few free agents next year. I bring back Vrbata, who is directly linked to a trade condition which can possibly work out in my favour:

In an earlier deal with the Sharks, I included a condition in which Vrbata scoring 50+ points would result in me getting a second-round pick, so that can also essentially be added onto the deal as I'll be riding Vrbata on the first line now all year. He scored 55 points in the NHL last year and is due for a good re-rate.

Byfuglien was nice to have, but his cap hit was enormous and I could hardly afford him. The additions of Martin and Larsson helped make him expendable, but I could use a defender to replace him (hint, hint).

It's really awesome getting so high into the first round. MJK and I fought for hours about the draft picks and the money sent in this deal. At first, I only wanted to send $4 million, but he insisted on $5. Ok, so I asked if I could send Marincin, who would have cleared waivers if I hadn't nabbed him (I had bottom priority at the time), as an addition. That frees up an additional $1.25 million.

Here's my lineup now. Bolded guys are available for the right price.
