It seems like a complete waste of money to build it along Deerfoot. Why even bother? We'd be way further ahead spending that money on a ring route, or even portions of it, than on a useless track along Deerfoot.
And as for the Center street route, expropriating all those properties along the way, or even a couple blocks off, would be insanely expensive. Probably as expensive as it would cost to buy a tunneling machine and just dig rather than cut and cover, or at grade.
